Real-World Data Scientific Program Manager
April Hopper, PharmD, is the real-world data scientific program manager at UPMC Enterprises, where she leads and coordinates interdisciplinary real-world data (RWD) collaborations between UPMC and industry. Her work focuses on managing RWD projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and overseeing project timelines.
With more than 30 years of experience in health system and home infusion pharmacy, drug information, clinical research, pharmacy benefits management, and regulatory consultation, April brings a mix of innovative clinical insight and project management skills to UPMC Enterprises.
Prior to joining UPMC Enterprises, April spent 25 years at Rite Aid Corporation, most recently as manager of the Drug Information Center and Corporate Clinical Services Team. April’s experience at Rite Aid also included roles in a core leadership team for a pharmacy benefits management startup, specialty pharmacy startup, and she served on the Prescriber Review Committee for Regulatory Affairs.
April earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and completed a Residency in Pharmacy Practice at Allegheny General Hospital.
