Ketki Karanam

Ketki Karanam is currently a Vice President Ventures, Translational Sciences, at UPMC Enterprises where she focuses on leading investments in innovative life sciences companies. Trained as a scientist, Ketki has spent over a decade in various life sciences investing and entrepreneurial roles.
Prior to joining UPMC Enterprises, Ketki was an early member of the team at Curie.bio, a therapeutics focused seed-stage fund and accelerator, and helped build Curie’s portfolio strategy, team, operations, and inaugural investments. Previously, Ketki built and executed on Europe’s elite venture accelerator program Gold Track, advancing high-potential life science and healthcare companies across Europe and supporting their development into globally competitive enterprises. During her tenure as General Manager of the program, Gold Track supported over 30 companies that raised over €500M, achieved three exits (totaling over €1B) and secured 24+ biopharma and strategic partnerships.
Prior to Gold Track, Ketki was a Vice President on the venture creation and innovation team at PureTech Health focusing on founding new companies in lymphatic biology, immunology and digital health. Ketki co-founded and held leadership operational roles in multiple health and health-tech NewCos.
Ketki completed her doctoral work at Harvard University in the Department of Systems Biology, focusing on genomic instability in cancer cells. She has been recognized as one of the top 40 healthcare innovators under 40 by MedTech Boston
