UPMC Experts Lead Conversations on Health Care Innovation Across Early 2026 Events

UPMC and UPMC Enterprises leaders are engaging across national and regional industry events to help shape the future of digital innovation, AI, precision medicine, clinical trials, and more in early 2026.

Our lineup of event engagements in the first quarter of 2026 highlights a clear theme: UPMC Enterprises experts are influencing the conversations that will define key moments in the future of health care — particularly in areas where clinical excellence, data, AI, and patient-centered innovation converge.

A number of our portfolio companies will also be onsite at select events, reinforcing how our investments translate into meaningful contributions to the health care innovation landscape.

2026 Digital Health Summit | Jan. 29 – 30, Pittsburgh, PA

At the 2026 Digital Health Summit, Fawad Butt, CEO of Penguin Ai, a UPMC Enterprises portfolio company, served as a keynote speaker of the event and joined Rob Bart, MD, CMIO of UPMC, on a panel addressing the tie between AI and precision medicine. Chris Carmody, CTO, UPMC, also presented as part of the “local innovation” spotlight series. 

SCOPE Summit | Feb. 2-5, Orlando, FL 

Andrew Adrian-Karlin, director of Technology Services Pipeline Development, will attend on behalf of UPMC Enterprises to connect with industry peers and share updates on the Ahavi real‑world data platform and related partnership opportunities. 

3 Rivers Venture Fair (3RVF) | Feb. 4 – 5, Pittsburgh, PA 

Deepan Kamaraj, MD, PhD, director of Data Analytics and Informatics at UPMC Enterprises, will be speaking on a panel titled “Data Privacy & AI Governance Polices – What to Expect When You Go to Market” at 3RVF, a Pittsburgh-based venture capital event connecting high-growth startups with investors, corporate partners, and innovation leaders. UPMC Enterprises will also serve as an official sponsor at the event.

ViVE 2026 | Feb. 22 – 25, Los Angeles, CA

UPMC and UPMC Enterprises will also maintain a strong presence at ViVE 2026, with David Okonkwo, MD, PhD, executive vice president of UPMC Enterprises, speaking on a panel titled “Clinical Trials Without the Wait, Waste & Wonder,” and Rob Bart, MD, CMIO of UPMC, participating in a panel session titled “EHR Maturity Moment.” 

In addition, a number of UPMC Enterprises portfolio companies will also be onsite in Los Angeles. Four portfolio companies, Abridge, Clearsense, Parachute Health, and Percipio Health, are serving as sponsors of the event.

Monday, Feb. 23

• Mike Tiemeyer, CISO, Butterfly Network, will be featured on a panel titled “Beyond HIPAA: Developing a Comprehensive Compliance Strategy” from 3:40 to 4 p.m. in the Data Innovation Theater C.

• Jason Rose, CEO, Clearsense, will speak alongside colleagues on the “IT Cost Optimization & Enterprise Strategy” panel from 4:30 –to5 p.m. on the Palm Stage.

Tuesday, Feb. 24

• Shiv Rao, MD, UPMC cardiologist and CEO and co-founder of Abridge will join Doximity for a discussion titled “Not Another One-Trick Pony: What It Takes to Build Enduring AI in Healthcare” from 9:40 to10:05 a.m. on the West Coast Stage.

• Other Abridge representation includes Guru Sundar, VP of Marketing at Abridge, moderating the “Pilot to Platform: Building Responsible, Systemwide AI That Works” panel on the Palm Stage from 2:20 to 3 p.m. and Julia Chou, Chief Operating Officer of Abridge, speaking on “The Cure for AI Short-Sightedness” panel on the Sunset Stage from 3:30 to 4:10 p.m.

Clinical Trial Billing and Compliance Summit | Feb. 23 – 25, New Orleans, LA

Soun Khountham, senior director of Sponsored Clinical Trials and Partnerships, will attend this event on behalf of UPMC Enterprises, engaging with peers on key topics shaping the clinical trials industry and sharing updates on UPMC’s evolving sponsored clinical trials and partnerships work. 

Transforming Healthcare Management Through AI: Opportunities and Challenges | Feb. 27, Pittsburgh, PA 

Deepan Kamaraj, MD, PhD, director of Data Analytics and Informatics at UPMC Enterprises, will be part of a panel titled “Entrepreneurship in the Health and AI Space,” alongside Megan Shaw, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Association, and other prominent colleagues for a discussion focused on innovation pathways, commercialization challenges, and opportunities emerging at the intersection of AI and health care.

Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) | Mar. 4 – 6, Santa Clara, CA  

Adrian Lee, PhD, senior advisor to UPMC Enterprises, and the director of the Institute for Precision Medicine, a joint effort by UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh, will serve as the Track Chair for the Liquid Biopsy – Therapy Guidance & Monitoring track, a notable leadership position for UPMC within a major national precision medicine forum.
