Fabian Tenenbaum, MBA, B.Md.
Executive Vice President
Fabian Tenenbaum, MBA, B.Md., is executive vice president at UPMC Enterprises, the innovation and venture capital arm of UPMC, where he leads venture strategy, capital deployment, and company creation across therapeutics, digital health, and translational sciences. In this role, he oversees an evergreen investment platform and works across UPMC’s clinical and data infrastructure to originate, build, and scale high-impact health care companies.
Fabian has more than 25 years of experience as a life sciences executive and investor, including building and scaling biotechnology, medical device, and health care technology companies from early discovery through clinical development and commercialization.
Prior to UPMC Enterprises, Fabian served as CEO and board member of Nectin Therapeutics, where he led the company from early institutional financing through entry into the clinic and established multiple strategic partnerships with Merck & Co., Immunome, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also previously served as CEO of Bellerophon Therapeutics, where he advanced registrational-stage clinical programs. At Anterios Therapeutics, he led the company through its NASDAQ IPO and subsequent acquisition by Allergan. He co-founded Syneron Beauty and led its growth into a global platform, culminating in its acquisition by Unilever. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Syneron Medical, Radiancy, and Sunlight Medical.
Fabian serves on the boards of multiple life sciences companies and advises early-stage ventures on company creation, strategy, and capital formation. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School (Dean’s List) and a bachelor’s degree in medicine from Ben-Gurion University (Summa Cum Laude).
