Prodigo’s dedication continues to deliver quality health care supply chain solutions

Fast approaching the 10-year mark since its founding, Prodigo Solutions is busy adding new clients, updating their tech solutions and launching new services. Recently, Prodigo has garnered press for their success in delivering quality supply chain solutions.

New Health Care Clients

In addition to numerous top hospitals already under contract, Prodigo is welcoming Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Henry Ford Health System, and The Christ Hospital as its newest clients in 2019.

These hospitals join Prodigo’s roster of major hospital system clients, including more than 20 percent of the nation’s 50 largest integrated delivery networks, more than 30 percent of Gartner’s top hospital supply chain departments, and more than 50 percent of the top 15 U.S. News & World Report hospitals.

Updating Tech Solutions & Launching New Services

For the past 10 years, Prodigo has supplied the tools necessary for health care providers to remove costs from their supply chain and achieve patient safety objectives through improved data quality, operational efficiency, and supply chain transparency.

The company’s technology has been developed in-house by health care supply chain experts to deliver tangible results across a continuum of care. In addition, this includes new services under their Data Management and Services Division, making it one of their most expansive offerings yet.

Originally designed and developed inside UPMC, Prodigo provides a suite of supply chain solutions and services, including e-procurement, content management, data management, B2B transactions, and supply chain analytics. This suite, often referred to as the “storefront,” is a client-branded, internal marketplace developed exclusively for hospital use. Prodigo is one of health care’s largest marketplaces by spend under management — having transformative financial impact on its customers’ supply chain practices and operations.

Prodigo Solutions saves providers tens of millions of dollars in health care supply chain costs by improving contract compliance and driving users to buy the right product, from the right source, at the right price. Additionally, ProdigoMarketplace is complemented by other specialized applications that are purpose-built just for hospitals.

Recent Supply Chain Press

With all the activity at the company, Prodigo has been in the news recently, featured in Spend Matters, “Healthcare Supply Chain Has its Own Needs, Challenges: An Insider’s View.”

In another recent Spend Matters story featuring Prodigo, “Prodigo’s Dedication to Its Core Market Continues to Pay Off,” the publication highlights the company’s dedication to the needs of hospitals, which “has helped establish the company’s dominance, now boasting half of the nation’s largest and most recognizable health system brands as customers.”

The story continues:

“By connecting relevant data across multiple platforms, eliminating process bottlenecks and meeting health system-specific implementation objectives, Prodigo has established itself as an industry fixture. Working closely for years with many of the most advanced healthcare procurement organizations in the nation, the guidance it can provide clients is unmatched. There’s simply no substitute for Prodigo’s real-world experience satisfying the varied and nuanced requirements of the nation’s largest health systems.”

Speaking and Attending at Supply Chain Industry Events

In addition to the positive exposure in Spend Matters, Prodigo is also speaking at industry events. Prodigo’s executive vice president of operations, Michael DeLuca, spoke at the Healthcare Industry User Group (HIUG) conference in Orlando, Fla., in June. DeLuca’s talk was entitled, The Path to Value: How to Justify Your Next Technology Project.

The HIUG conference attracts over 600 attendees and supports sharing of information and strategic planning for Oracle’s on-premise solutions such as PeopleSoft and Hyperion as well as Oracle’s Cloud solutions.

Other opportunities to connect with Prodigo at upcoming conferences include AHRMM19 in July and the IDN Fall Summit in early September. Details can be found on Prodigo’s website.
