Annual Mandatory Education

  • The completion timeframe is Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, 2022.
  • Mandatory education modules keep you up to date with current policies and procedures at UPMC, ensuring a safe environment.
  • As a UPMC employee, you are required to complete systemwide annual mandatory education.  
  • Anyone required to complete the education will be pre-registered in Learning in HR Direct.

Benefits Enrollment and Enhancements

  • The 2023 Open Enrollment period is happening Wednesday, Oct. 26th through Friday, Nov. 11.
  • Benefits enhancements include:
    • Fertility Benefits – Benefits increased from $2,000 to $5,000 benefit maximum
    • Health Reimbursement Arrangement – This benefit will expand to include both Benefit Band A and Benefit Band B employees who choose Gold or Silver medical plans for 2023
    • Access to Emergency and Backup Child and Senior Care Days through Care.com
    • Pet Insurance – Voluntary benefit offers 20% off the retail rate for MetLife Pet Insurance

Mandatory Flu Vaccination Program

  • If you are a non-clin​ic​al staff m​ember: You must either obtain the flu vaccination or complete the online declination form through the Vaccine Portal (view instructions) by Nov. 15.
  • UPMC provides flu vaccines free of charge to all employees at vaccination clinics held at UPMC facilities.
  • Employee Health offices, or MyHealth@Work locations. Employees who choose to receive the flu vaccine at a public or community clinic, a retail pharmacy, or a physician’s office will be required to verify (via the Vaccine Portal) that they received the flu vaccine at an alternate location.
