Kristen Matichko, DNP, MBA, RN, NI-BC

Kristen, a Product Manager at UPMC Enterprises, collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs. Her unique perspective, stemming from roles as a direct patient caregiver and informatics industry expert, informs product recommendations for MyUPMC. She builds strong stakeholder relationships, facilitating successful implementation of vital solutions for both patients and providers.

Her journey began as a bedside nurse in UPMC’s Emergency Department in 2000. She later served as a project manager for Quality Improvement, an Informatics Nurse, and contributed to the HealthPlaNET program development team at UPMC Health Plan. Kristen also consulted for IBM Watson Health for three years, specializing in health system workflow data discovery and validation for VBP software implementations. She’s well-versed in AI, LLMs, Watson Knowledge Studio, and Salesforce due to her time there as a consultant.

Kristen holds a DNP in Clinical Informatics from Carlow University, an MSN in Nursing Informatics from Walden University, and an Executive MBA in Healthcare from the University of Pittsburgh. She’s Board Certified in Nursing Informatics (NI-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and currently is an adjunct professor at the CCAC School of Nursing.
