Dhanesh Shah

Dhanesh Shah joined UPMC Enterprises in July 2023 as a Director on the Translational Sciences team. His focus is evaluating venture investment opportunities within life sciences and supporting all aspects of portfolio management.

Prior to joining UPMC, Dhanesh was Director of Technology Innovation and Commercialization at University Hospitals in Cleveland, where he oversaw all aspects of sourcing, triaging, and commercialization of intellectual property.

Dhanesh brings more than a decade of experience in innovation acceleration, business development, and venture investments across various domains in health care. With keen interest in life science technologies, and health care economics, Dhanesh applies his problem-solving and analytical rigor in developing investment thesis or translating innovation into thriving business operations. His experience spans across corporate finance, strategy, business development, technology commercialization and new venture creation.

Dhanesh received his MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Commerce from University of Mumbai. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, cycling, and running.
