Thirsty for knowledge? UPMCE launches Speaker Series

Formerly known as ’Brown Bags’ or ‘Lunch n Learns’, the Speaker Series is a way for Enterprises to organize speakers internally, locally, and nationally, to engage and educate us on subjects relating to their current work and on topics that are top of mind in the health care innovation and tech world.

We encourage a culture of learning here at Enterprises, and the Speaker Series is a way to help facilitate this.

Moving forward, the Speaker Series will take place at 11:00 AM instead of noon and notice will be given in advance of a speaker through email invitations and displays around the office.

We will be kicking off the Speaker Series on Friday, Sept. 28, with Dr. Guergana Savova – Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. Her talk, Software and Research Challenges for Clinical NLP, will highlight an open source platform, which uses a NLP system for extraction of information from electronic medical records. We hope to see you there!

If you have connections to a speaker who you would like to host through the Speaker Series, please contact Evan Watson at watsonce@upmc.edu.
