Office Tips: All About ID Badges

Whether you’re a new hire or a long-term employee, read this monthly article to receive helpful tips and information related to UPMC Enterprises.

“I’m a new hire who doesn’t have an ID badge yet. What do I do?”

  • Your ID badge photo should have been uploaded to the Onboarding Portal before your first day.
  • ID Badge Operations will ship your badge once it is printed to Bakery Square.
  • ID Badge Operations delivers badges to Bakery Square twice a week to Kim Adams, who activates them for security access. If your badge is delivered and received elsewhere, you will need to send your badge number AND person number to Kim Adams so she can activate it properly.
  • Kim Adams will send you an email once your badge is ready to be picked up, or hand it off to the HR representative who will connect with you directly.

“My ID badge is damaged/lost. How do I get a replacement?”

  • Visit Infonet > search “ID Badge Access and Request Form” > select “Badge Request” (do not select “Access Request”) > fill in required information > email Kim Adams so that she is aware of the request.
  • ID Badge Operations delivers badges to Bakery Square twice a week to Kim Adams, who activates them for security access. If your badge is delivered and received elsewhere, you will need to send your badge number AND person number to Kim Adams so she can activate it properly.
  • ID Badge Operations will assess a $15 replacement fee if the former ID badge is not returned to ID Badge Operations.

“What if I forget my badge and need to get into the office?”

  • Bakery Square and UPMC Enterprises suite are secured areas. When entering either, you must swipe your badge. Piggybacking (following another staff member through entry without swiping your badge) is not permitted.
  • If you happen to not have your UPMC ID badge with you on a particular day you must stop at the building’s front desk at the entrance. The front desk staff will register you into Bakery Square’s Visitor Management System and provide you with a visitor badge that will serve as your identification for building access (not security access) for the day, and then provide you with elevator access to the second floor.
