How did you get into the industry? My first job in the industry was a project coordinator in UPMC’s Heart and Vascular Institute, where I stayed for four and a half years working on a variety of department and system-wide initiatives. I’ve always been interested in healthcare but this position really ignited my passion to continue pursuing a career in this industry.
Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere? I grew up about two hours outside of Pittsburgh in Punxsutawney, Pa – if you’ve ever heard of Groundhog Day! I moved to Pittsburgh in 2010 to attend the University of Pittsburgh and I have been here (Shadyside, specifically) ever since.
Where in the universe would you like to visit someday? Bravocon. Bravo content is chicken noodle soup for my reality tv loving soul.

Free space: Share any fun fact! Several years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Harry Styles and got a picture of him kissing my cheek. By far the coolest celebrity I’ve ever encountered!
Senior Director, Translational Sciences
How did you get into the industry? I did PhD and postdoctoral training in neuroscience and neurology, and eventually became more interested in working on delivering medicines and diagnostics to patients than I was at working in the lab. I spent ~7.5 years doing life sciences strategy consulting at L.E.K. Consulting before joining UPMC.
Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere? Grew up in New Castle, PA (Neshannock). Have spent the last 15 years living in Minneapolis, San Francisco Bay Area, and west Lost Angeles.
