Mary “Libby” Anthony

Lead Data Engineer

How did you get into the industry? I was lucky enough to intern with the UPMC Message Router team and stayed on after graduation. It worked out well because I loved my computer science and health care classes.

Where in the universe would you like to visit someday? I’d like to ski in Switzerland and Canada, then take a sail boat around the Caribbean to warm back up.

Which is better: board games or video games? Both! I’ve gone to the PAX West gaming convention in Seattle every year since 2012. Except last year, of course.


Nathan “Nate” Chan

Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere? I grew up in Southern California, but I’ve moved around a bit. I was born in Chicago (Go Cubs!), went to college in Berkeley, CA, and recently moved to Pittsburgh from Seattle, WA.

What’s in your perfect meal? Sugar, cornstarch, rice cooking wine, soy sauce, five spice pepper, ginger, and scallions. These are the most common ingredients in Cantonese cooking.

Which is better: board games or video games? Board games. Settlers of Catan, Space Team, and Captain Sonar anybody?

Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere?
I am local to the Pittsburgh area. I grew up in Bethel Park.

Do you have any kids? Any pets? I have a 1.5 year old mini goldendoodle named Phoebe (named after Phoebe from the show Friends).

What’s in your perfect meal? Any type of pasta with Olive Garden breadsticks.

How did you get into the industry? I received my PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences which led to a Clinical Pharmacology opportunity at a CRO. After a couple of years, I joined Bristol Myers Squibb as a Clinical Pharmacologist.

Do you have any kids? Any pets? I have 2 teenagers and a 8 month old puppy named Prince.

If any musician or band could give you a personal concert, who would it be? Eric Clapton of course!

Associate Software Engineer

Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere? I was born and raised Marshall Township (North Allegheny area). I went to school at Drexel University in Philadelphia, but I’m excited to be back in my hometown!

What makes you a geek (if you consider yourself one)? I spend a lot of time tinkering with consumer technology and IOT outside of work, including participating in Hackathons. I’m currently working on a FLIR augmented reality headset and a piezoelectric coffee chilling device.

Where in the universe would you like to visit someday? Mars, or at least the moon, if commercial or consumer space flight ever becomes affordable.
