The Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service (ACES) recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional customer service in their everyday actions. Nominees live UPMC’s five core values and go above and beyond every day to show that they care deeply about our patients, our customers, and our community.
Fewer than 1 percent of all staff system-wide are chosen annually for the ACES Award, and this year we are excited to announce our winners: Hayley Hinkle and Josh Danko.
Hayley Hinkle, Manager of Engineering Operations
Hayley embodies the values of UPMC in her work and relationships at Enterprises every single day. Hayley is proactive in anticipating needs and fulfilling them even before requested. She has taken every request to completion and gets things done quickly and efficiently. Hayley was instrumental in getting Gliffy setup in Confluence, which has allowed the engineering teams to more easily collaborate with each other on system architecture, design, and process modeling. She also drove implementing JIRA and Confluence at Enterprises, which have been accelerators for engineering teams. Her work as a ScrumMaster showed her skill in servant leadership and she became an inspiration for others on ways to make retrospectives engaging and effective. Her knowledge of Agile and Lean processes allows her to lead a diverse group of ScrumMasters and enhance their skills. Most importantly, Hayley truly cares about the team and is very focused on helping others succeed.
Josh Danko, Business Analyst
Josh is an instrumental part of the Controllership side of the Enterprises Finance team. Josh completes his work with high standards for quality and applies thoughtful attention to detail, all with a positive attitude and team player mentality. Since August 2017, Josh has been supporting Vincent Payment Solution’s CEO, Beth Dubyak, in this role and he has been a valuable and trusted business partner. Josh took it upon himself to offer up additional pricing and break-even analyses for the CEO for her consideration because he cares about the company’s success and wants to provide additional reports and analyses to help aid in their decision-making processes. His willingness to help in whatever way he can, and dedication to provide support to our portfolio companies, is outstanding. Josh is a great collaborator and team player. He has taken on additional work that wasn’t even assigned to him to help others with their workload. Josh always goes above and beyond and exemplifies UPMC’s core values every day.
