Before his role at UPMC, he served as the Chief Strategic Officer and General Counsel of ByHeart, Inc., a leading infant formula company. At ByHeart, James played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s FDA strategy, overseeing legal affairs, and spearheading the acquisition and establishment of their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.  

With a robust background in the pharmaceutical sector, James spent over 15 years in various leadership positions at companies like Fresenius Kabi and Amneal Pharmaceuticals. Notably, he served as the Senior Vice President at Fresenius Kabi, responsible for overseeing the company’s portfolio and marketing strategy unit.
