UPMC Enterprises is proud to announce a partnership and licensing agreement with Clearsense, a technology company that partners with health care organizations to drive more value from their data. The agreement will allow Clearsense to integrate with Alexandria Charts, a platform developed by UPMC Enterprises as an end-to-end unstructured data solution.
Patient data often gets stuck in unstructured clinical notes, and sorting through it can be costly and time-consuming for payors and providers. To solve this problem, the experts at UPMC Enterprises developed the Alexandria Charts platform that has been in use for over a decade at UPMC and UPMC Health Plan.
“The capabilities brought about by Alexandria Charts, and utilized by numerous disciplines throughout the UPMC system, will now be enjoyed by an ever-growing Clearsense customer base,” said UPMC Enterprises Senior Vice President of Product Development, Jeffrey Jones. “UPMC Enterprises is thrilled to partner with Clearsense in their clear-box data management efforts and look forward to the organization’s success in delivering new insights by way of Alexandria Charts.”
Built for developers-first, Alexandria Charts boasts a robust toolkit including plug-and-play optical character recognition and natural language processing engine support. The HIPAA-compliant, HITRUST– certified platform makes it easy to aggregate, normalize, and transform unstructured data into high-quality, consumable data. This helps health systems make the most of the data they currently have and helps companies accelerate the next generation of health care solutions.
As a solution accelerator, Alexandria Charts is designed to scale to meet needs across many customers with infrastructure and operational efficiencies in mind. The platform has been leveraged and built upon by several UPMC Enterprises portfolio companies including Astrata, Edifecs, and Realyze Intelligence.
For companies like Clearsense, a pre-built platform allows their teams to focus on growing their actual applications and business rather than a time-consuming and costly infrastructure build-out. By partnering with UPMC Enterprises, Clearsense will collaborate with the team of engineers and health care experts at UPMC to seamlessly integrate Alexandria Charts with the secure and scalable Clearsense data platform.
The integration of the two technologies will allow health care systems from around the country to enhance and expand the data they are able to mine from patient records to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of care to positively impact patient outcomes.
