Advocating for patient experience and access across the patient portal transition, provider directory , and GoHealth JV efforts.
Q: What was your dream job as a kid?
I wanted to be an architect. In retrospect, kind of an odd one for a kid. Likely influenced by spending too much time on my father’s construction sites growing up. While my job is not that today, I like to think that a similar mindset is often applied.

Q: What is your proudest accomplishment at Enterprises to date?
I’m proudest of the work we did on the Safar project, from its inception as a worklist tool written by our architecture group, through several rounds of DoD grant competition, finally finding a good owner with eVisit. I have said since I started with Enterprises that I’d like to see a project from start to successful exit, and I did get my chance with Safar. I also worked with excellent staff, including top notch software and test engineers, passionate product people, and key clinical experts. It’s without a doubt the capstone to my experience with Enterprises.
Q: What was your dream job as a kid?
My childhood passion was astronomy, particularly solar astronomy. It helped that I grew up in Florida. Throughout junior and senior high school I conducted a large experiment on sunspot dynamics based on visual observation and had the chance to collaborate a tiny bit with professional solar astronomers. I planned most of my childhood all the way through end of high school to pursue astronomy, really observational solar astronomy, as a career. It came as a surprise to many of childhood friends that I ended up in comparative literature instead.

I’ve had the privilege of working on several meaningful projects, navigating intricate partnerships and deal structures. As a result, my proudest accomplishment would always be the most recent one. Currently, it’s the launch of Glimmer Health – a UPMC Enterprises and Redesign Health co-creation, which aims to empower PCPs with comprehensive, evidence-based, multimodal chronic pain management support built on the foundations of world-class innovative clinical care developed at UPMC’s Pain Management Division.

My proudest accomplishment at Enterprises is the creation of our batch ingestion framework utilized to ingest documents to Alexandria Charts for use by UPMC Health Plan. This migrated our previous purpose-built engines to a generalized, modular serverless framework hosted in AWS that reduced our compute costs and provided more stability to the process. However, the current Ahavi data platform we are building is gaining quickly on that top spot.

Q: What is your proudest accomplishment at Enterprises to date?
I don’t think there is one moment specifically, but seeing the solutions we invest in getting used by patients to make some part of their journey easier definitely makes all the work worth it. The slow and wary pace of health care can be frustrating at times, but knowing that the work we’ve done can impact even one person’s life is so rewarding.
Q: What was your dream job as a kid?
I went through multiple (artist, fashion designer, dancer) but for a long time I wanted to be a teacher!
