UPMC Enterprises Partners with Percipio Health to Revolutionize Population Health Monitoring with AI Innovation

Digital Solutions

At UPMC Enterprises, we are dedicated to transforming health care through cutting-edge innovation and strategic partnerships.

We are thrilled to partner with Percipio Health, a groundbreaking population health monitoring platform that has officially launched after closing a $20 million Series A funding round, with UPMC Enterprises as one of its investors.

Percipio represents a bold step forward in making health care more efficient, accessible, and impactful — an effort closely aligned with the mission of UPMC.

Percipio Health: Transforming Population Monitoring with AI

Percipio Health’s AI-powered platform is redefining the possibilities of remote patient monitoring (RPM).

By leveraging only a smartphone, the platform collects and analyzes whole-person health signals, providing real-time assessments of current and predictive health risks. This approach eliminates the need for costly medical devices, significantly reducing barriers to entry and enabling broader population reach.

For providers and payers, Percipio’s platform serves as a shared source of truth, empowering them with actionable insights to drive proactive care and support value-based care contracting.

“Asynchronous monitoring is among the most powerful tools for the future of health care, enabled by the efficiencies of AI,” said Andrew R. Watson, MD, MLitt, FACS, a UPMC surgeon and Senior Medical Advisor at UPMC Enterprises.

Percipio was founded by Eric Rock and David Lucas, veterans of digital health innovation. They previously started Vivify Health, a remote patient monitoring platform that was a UPMC Enterprises portfolio company before it was acquired by UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division in 2019.

“With our advanced AI health signals, we deliver instant health risk assessments, proactive health monitoring, and comprehensive virtual care at scale,” said Rock, who is Percipio’s CEO.

Meeting Strategic Gaps in Value-Based Care

At UPMC Enterprises, we understand that the health care system is at a pivotal moment and solutions such as Percipio Health can help address the challenges that have prevented value-based care from achieving its full potential.

By delivering personalized, predictive insights, Percipio enables earlier diagnoses, more targeted interventions, and better patient outcomes.

“Payers and providers can now reach and understand a much broader population, of both rising and high risk, to ensure they receive the proactive attention, assessment, and interventions they need, resulting in lower costs of care and more optimal outcomes,” Lucas said.

UPMC Enterprises is proud to support Percipio Health in its mission to redefine population health monitoring. Together, we are working to advance solutions that empower providers and payers to deliver more personalized, proactive care at scale, ultimately improving patient outcomes and ensuring a more sustainable health care system.
