Cavulus, a software and services company for health insurers, automates marketing, sales, enrollment, retention and compliance functions, primarily in the Medicare Advantage market. The company serves more than 35 health plans, which have experienced Medicare Advantage market growth outpacing the industry average by 20 percent. UPMC Enterprises established a strategic partnership with Cavulus that builds on the company’s positive customer relationship with UPMC Health Plan.
Health Fidelity develops innovative technologies for health plans in the value-based health care era. The company worked with UPMC to develop a comprehensive risk-adjustment solution for Medicare Advantage, Medicare ACO, and health insurance exchange programs. The technology – first deployed at UPMC Health Plan – uses analytics, workflow optimization, and point-of-care integration to provide the control, transparency, and information necessary to successfully run risk-adjustment programs at health plans.
Lantern’s mobile-first platform delivers wellness support based on cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, and its self-directed app offers a more consumer-friendly, scalable, and cost-effective experience for patients. Lantern’s approach to behavioral health is backed by proven science and was developed in partnership with experts at Stanford University, Penn State University, and Washington University in St. Louis. As a strategic partner with UPMC, Lantern is implementing its digital behavioral health platform within UPMC’s clinical care environment and is planning to extend its platform into additional patient populations.
Ovation offers health information management and revenue cycle solutions that allow healthcare organizations to automate and simplify processes. Ovation’s products started as an innovation within the UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle Group in 2007. The company’s solutions use UPMC-developed technology to streamline revenue cycle operations and reduce costs by automating the processes of verifying patient insurance coverage, claim status and other functions. Ovation has reseller partnerships with revenue cycle management and IT firms throughout the country and it markets directly to hospitals, physicians, and health plans.
Prodigo Solutions helps health care systems improve financial performance by taking control of their supply chain and enabling them to be smarter shoppers. Designed and developed inside UPMC, Prodigo tackles the unique challenges that health care systems face with a suite of supply chain solutions and services, including e-procurement, content management, B2B transactions, and supply chain consulting.
RxAnte is a provider of solutions that improve patient compliance with prescription medicines by reducing misuse, underuse, and overuse. Building on a three-year vendor relationship with UPMC Health Plan, UPMC Enterprises is facilitating product development and accelerating RxAnte’s growth by expanding offerings for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial populations.
Vivify Health’s remote patient monitoring system focuses on population health solutions and is being used at UPMC to treat patients with congestive heart failure, inflammatory bowel disease, those in need of advanced illness care, and smoking cessation support. UPMC Enterprises is evaluating the potential of Vivify’s platform in a variety of use-case scenarios where the technology can reduce hospitalizations and improve quality of care.
Incubated at Providence Health & Services through its Digital Innovation Group, the Xealth platform enables clinicians to prescribe and monitor digital health care content, apps, and services as easily as they do medications or orders today. Xealth can onboard new digital care vendors in a fraction of the time, integrate the patient experience into a health system portal, and determine the efficacy and engagement of digital care solutions across patient populations.
