Upcoming webinar examines cloud cybersecurity for health systems

The Center for Connected Medicine (CCM) is hosting “Building Trust in the Cloud,” a webinar examining how health systems can move past concerns about cybersecurity to benefit from the cloud.

The webinar, which will broadcast at 12 p.m. on May 7, features a panel of cybersecurity experts discussing exclusive CCM research on health system perceptions of cloud information security:

  • John P. Houston, Vice President, Privacy and Information Security, and Associate Counsel, UPMC
  • Gus Hunt, Managing Director and Cyber Strategy Lead, Accenture Federal Services
  • Matt Silva, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, GE Healthcare

Moderated by technology reporter Peter Burrows, the event provides insights on the risks and benefits of the cloud, explores strategies of health systems to advance cybersecurity protections in the cloud, and offers perspectives on private versus public cloud infrastructure.

The discussion is based on results of a survey by HIMSS Media and the CCM that found security concerns are limiting the use of the cloud by health systems.
