Hosts Bill Koch, Software Engineer at UPMC Enterprises, and Steve Sloka, Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware, will demonstrate how applications can be rolled out inside a Kubernetes cluster to minimize the impact on users.
Rolling out a new version of an application typically requires specific maintenance windows or downtime for users – and despite improvements in the industry, user-perceived downtime is still a reality. This breakout session, titled “Crossing the Streams! Rollout Strategies to Keep Your Users Happy!”, aims to show users ways to streamline the process.
The session will also include a live coding portion to show how Spring Boot’s liveness/readiness probes and graceful shutdown support can enable Kubernetes to intelligently manage traffic without dropping users’ requests.
The session takes place on Wednesday, September 2 at 1:05pm. Additional details can be found here. There is no fee to attend the conference.
