PHDA and AWS are teaming up to improve patient care

The Pittsburgh Health Data Alliance and Amazon Web Services are teaming up to provide Alliance projects with machine learning research sponsorships.

It was recently announced that eight Pittsburgh Health Data Alliance (PHDA) projects – led by scientists and researchers from the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and UPMC – will receive support from AWS to advance innovation in areas such as precision medicine, voice-enabled technologies, medical imaging, and more.

“At UPMC Enterprises, we understand the power and advantages that AWS brings to our organization,” said Dr. Zariel Johnson, PHDA Program Manager. “Having AWS supporting our Pittsburgh Health Data Alliance projects will help them be more flexible, collaborative, and able to scale. These capabilities are central to enabling innovation in healthcare through big data.”
