Cody Backus, Associate Software Engineer, Tech Solutions

How did you get into the industry?
I’ve always been interested in tech, particularly programming, and it all stemmed from my uncle who was in the industry for about 30 years. He taught me JavaScript at a young age, and it was something I really enjoyed. I got into the industry through a boot camp called Tech Elevator and would recommend it to anyone looking to get into tech. It was a great experience!

Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere?
I am not a Pittsburgh local, I am actually from Texas. Moved here with my parents around 4-5 years ago now and I have to say I wouldn’t go back, way too hot.

Where in the universe would you like to visit someday?
Mars would be cool, assuming it’s just a visit and I wouldn’t be staying there.
