How did you get into the industry? I have always enjoyed learning about what makes businesses ‘tick’. What problem does the business solve? Where is it creating value compared to its competition? What levers drive success? Naturally, accounting and finance have been a good fit.
My first job after college was as a CPA at a Big 4 accounting firm. I loved the job because I got to work with a breadth of clients from different industries – from AI to Aerospace. Each industry had its nuances and challenges that needed to be overcome. A key reason why I wanted to join UPMC Enterprises was to support the wide range of portfolio companies. I am excited to connect with others and learn more about the great things they do!
Are you a Pittsburgh local or did you grow up elsewhere? I am 100% a Pittsburgh native; I have not flown far from the nest. I grew up in a borough ~25 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh called Franklin Park and went to Robert Morris University for college. As of now, I may win the award for shortest commute; I currently live in Bakery Square right across the street – I have no excuse for being late to work!
Do you have any kids? Any pets? Abriel, my girlfriend, and I are the proud ‘fur parents’ to Colby Jack, a small, orange tabby. While working from home, he has expanded his skillset from merely sitting on my keyboard; he is proficient in assessing companies’ quality of earnings and interpreting transactions under GAAP. If you see me walking around the office, I have plenty of pictures of him to show off.
