Tie-breaker decides hard-fought UPMC Enterprises Second Annual Field Day

It was the Second Annual UPMC Enterprises Field Day at the beginning of June and a dozen teams came to PLAY on the lawn at Bakery Square.

Events started at noon, but some of the seasoned competitors decided to head to the field early to warm up – to ensure peak performance.

“I wanted to help my team win, but also stay healthy and uninjured in the process. I came to the field earlier to stretch, do a couple of test runs to make sure I performed my best for the 40-yard dash,” said Nick Dudukovich, from Team Kelly Green.

This year, 12 different teams participated, with everyone being divided up by UPMCE products/teams. Field Day featured a mix of athletic and non-athletic events – everything from racing and football throwing, to timed events like cup stacking and separating Skittles by color. Competition was intense at times and the day certainly showcased some hidden talents among our staff.

Teams were neck-and-neck through the whole day, but after all the events ended there was a three-way tie between teams Jade Green, Gold, and Purple. In the event of a tie, the team who earned the most points in the Hula Hoop Ring Toss won. In this case, the Purple Team came out as the winner.
