UPMC Enterprises team members will be participating in investor/startup matching sessions as well as speaking on Enterprises’ corporate VC expertise.
UPMC Enterprises will be sponsoring, attending, and speaking at the upcoming 3 Rivers Venture Fair. The Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association event is held every 18 months and is one of the premier venture capital conferences in the region. This year, the Fair will be taking place April 2-3 at the Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.
Along with sponsoring, UPMC Enterprises will participate as a Venture Connection investor, and Dr. Matthias Kleinz will speak on a corporate venture capital panel.
Venture Connection Investor/Startup Matching

The Venture Connection event allows investors to host tables to meet with pre-match groups of entrepreneurs based on capital needs and industry. Each Venture Connection session will be broken into 20-minute segments giving UPMC Enterprises the chance to meet with up to 36 well-screened, capital-seeking entrepreneurs. Members of the business development team will staff the Enterprises’ Venture Connection table.

Corporate venture capital groups were active in 20 percent of all VC deals in 2017 to the tune of $3.1 billion. While traditional venture capital still holds certain advantages, corporate VCs have emerged as a growing force in the industry. This session will discuss the advantages, disadvantages, trends, and strategic opportunities available through these unique funding sources. The panel will feature:
